ECO friendly corrosion inhibitors

Ecological information

Ecotoxic effects

Hazard category in the event of inhalation (kerosene): low-hazardous.

Hazard category in the event of swallowing (getting into stomach): low-hazardous.

Maximum allowable concentration (MAC) in the air of workplace (kerosene vapors in terms of carbon): 300 mg/m³ , low-hazardous. Approximately safe impact level of the substance in the atmospheric air of residential areas: 1.2 mg/m³.

Persistence and degradation

In case of release into water and soil the corrosion inhibitor undergoes biodegradation under the impact of microorganisms in both the aerobic and anaerobic conditions. .

Chemical oxygen demand (COD): 2.5 mgO2/g.
Biological oxygen demand (BOD): 1.8 mgO2/g
Biodegradability: ≥ 70 %.

Sensitization capacity

Corrosion inhibitors of DEFENDER and WINCOR series do not possess the sensitizing effect.

Long-term effects

Undetected

Effect on microorganisms

Corrosion inhibitors of Defender and Wincor series do not contribute to growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria in the systems where they are applied.
